Testimonies

They had helicopters, bloodhounds, four-wheel drives, night-sight goggles, flashlights, insect repellent, rifles and shotguns. He had a pair of flip-flops. The hunt lasted fifty-six days, and Ricky Sinclair was the hunted drug smuggler on the run.

This is a true story of drugs, running, and survival. It is also the story of faith, hope, love and change. This book offers an encouraging hand of hope for those caught up in the bondage of addiction: it is for people whose lives or the lives of loved ones, have been affected by drugs and alcohol. Ricky Sinclair lays his life before you to show the truth of a life in drugs and gives a practical approach to recovery.

Here is a video you can also watch about the story of Ricky Sinclair.

God has brought me out of addiction and bondage and delivered me into peace and serenity. He has provided me with a need of support, knowledge and understanding by exposing me with His Word in the Bible everyday. I emerge myself in His Will and the path He had laid out for me before the beginning of time.

I have went through many trials and tribulations of addiction, which led to the loss of life and living. I have been in a dark prison for 33 years. But the moment I handed
God my heart, He freed me from all bondage and gave me life more abundantly than I ever knew existed.

God has been faithful to His promises. He has brought me into the light. He has brought me into a whole new way of thinking. God has given me compassion when I didn’t have it. He has never left my side. Just for that, I praise Him and I love Him.

I am a product of God’s power and strength to deliver and restore a man back to himself and deliver me from the hands of the enemy . He delivered me from drug addiction and alcoholism and restored my family back to me. God has touched my life and set me free. The Bible says “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” I am free. I am happy today.

Since I’ve been here (at Miracle Place Church), God has delivered me from drug abuse. He has set me on a foundation that is unshakable. I now have a God-fearing husband who helps and supports me in the ministry that I do. My son has been restored back to me after 3-4 years of being gone out of my life because of the choices I’ve made. God has done a quick work in my life, and it’s just amazing what He can do for you when you’re just obedient. Obedience is, definitely, better than sacrifice. I’ve found that strength and obedience, with no compromise, is what it takes to make it through this walk.

God has changed my life. He has shown me a different path to take, which is the Path of Righteousness. He has taken me out of darkness and brought me into the light. Now, I am delivered from bondage and walking in freedom. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Up until about three years ago, my life was plagued by the constant torment of being without God. I was lonely, hopeless, timid, and addicted to drugs and alcohol. At the age of 19, my addiction brought me before a judge at Baton Rouge City Court, where I stood knowing I couldn’t pass a drug test. I was sentenced to 90 days in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, unless I could find a rehabilitation center that is at least 6 months long. After no success in checking on four other rehabs, a young man in the cell across the hall asked me if I had ever heard of Miracle Place Church. I felt a peace in my heart about going there, in spite of the voices that told me I would never be free. While in the All the Way House program, I recommitted my heart and life to Jesus Christ. After completing the program and a season of working construction, the Lord put it on my heart to return to Miracle Place Church. Now, I’m glad to be involved with the leadership here at Miracle Place Church, where I’ve found everything I was looking for and hungry for more.

I came to Miracle Place Church for transformation in my life, because I’ve been without God for too long. I was addicted to pain killers and muscle relaxers. I thought that God didn’t love me. I came here to get into the Word. With God’s help, I have overcome my addiction, and I’m living for God now.
